Um paraíso de montanhas junto ao mar, estradas cénicas a percorrer os fiordes e praias de areia branca em pleno Ártico. As Ilhas Lofoten foram uma das nossas casas ao longo dos últimos anos e, como as estações marcam este sítio mais que qualquer outro, decidi lançar esta nova viagem no Inverno. Em Março, onde as noites ainda se iluminam com as Auroras e as montanhas erguem-se do mar pintadas de branco.

A paradise of mountains beside the sea, scenic roads through the fjords and white-sand beaches in the heart of the Arctic. The Lofoten Islands were one of our homes over the past few years and, since the seasons shape this place more than anywhere else, I decided to launch this new trip in winter. In March, when the nights still glow with the Auroras and the mountains rise from the sea painted white.

Na segunda metade desta viagem voamos para outro arquipélago, Svalbard, onde se encontra a cidade habitada mais próxima do Pólo Norte. O cenário é mágico, com vastas planícies cobertas de neve, montanhas imponentes e glaciares imensos, que tornam qualquer atividade ao ar livre uma experiência inesquecível.

In the second half of this trip we fly to another archipelago, Svalbard, home to the closest inhabited town to the North Pole. The setting is magical, with vast snow-covered plains, imposing mountains and immense glaciers that make any outdoor activity an unforgettable experience.

Mountains painted white, rising straight from the sea.

Vilas piscatórias adormecidas na neve, estradas cénicas que desenham o caminho por entre os fiordes, renas a atravessar a floresta gelada e, quando a noite cai, o céu acende-se de verde. Este é o rosto invernal do arquipélago que chamámos casa.

Fishing villages asleep under the snow, scenic roads tracing their way between the fjords, reindeer crossing the frozen forest and, when night falls, a sky that lights up green. This is the winter face of the archipelago we once called home.
